Satellite reception

UHF

Tactical Military Satellites often abused by pirate operators but can sometimes provide interesting real traffic.

L-Band

Inmarsat, Iridium, HRPT weather satellites, GPS, Glonass, and other satellites operating in the L-Band.

S-Band

Space to Earth transmission of TT&C, ranging and payload data etc, details of satellites carrying S-Band transmitters.

C-Band

C-Band satellites mostly carry TV multiplexes, VSAT traffic, SCPC communications.

X-Band

Covering the military downlink bands along with a few LEO / GEO Weather satellites

Ku-Band

TV multiplexes, VSAT traffic, Radio station feedes, leased data circuits and other interesting traffic.

Ka-Band

Intelligence gathering, Military and commercial downlinks can be found in these bands.
